Takao Someya
Professor
University of Tokyo, Japan
Takao Someya
Nature,Science, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Nature Materials,Nature Communications,Nature Photonics等知名期刊上共计发表高水平学术论文80余篇,累计引用次数超过28000,h因子达75。
Takao Someya received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tokyo in 1997. Since 2009, he has been a professor of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at The University of Tokyo. From 2001 to 2003, he worked at the Nanocenter (NSEC) of Columbia University, and at Bell Labs and Lucent Technologies as a Visiting Scholar. Since 2009, he has been a Global Scholar at Princeton University and currently serves as the Project Leader of the NEDO/JAPERA Project (from March 2011) and as a Research Director of a JST/ERATO Project (from March 2011).
His current research interests include organic transistors, flexible electronics, plastic integrated circuits, large-area sensors, and plastic actuators. His recent research focus is bio-medical application of organic devices. His group aims to develop novel electronic devices that can harmoniously interface with living bodies by taking advantage of the inherent softness of organic materials and the remarkable features of organic molecules. Unprecedentedly light, and ultrathin, soft ICs, light-emitting devices, and solar cells are our latest achievements. His next challenge is to expand them into “wearable electronics”.
He has received many recognition and awards for his research, Highly Cited Researchers (Thomson Reuters), June 2014. The 46th Ichimura Prizes in Technology-Meritorious Achievement Prize, April 2014. Nano Tech Award, Research Project Division, January 2013. The 34th (FY2012) Japan Society of Applied Physics Best Review Paper Award, “Ambient Electronics”, JJAP, September 2012. 2010 IEEE/EDS Paul Rappaport Award (IEEE Electron Device Society, 2011.12). The 1st Display Research and Development Achievement Award, March 2011. The 13th IEICI Electronics Society Award (IEICI Electronics Society), March 2010. The 5th JSPS Prize, March 9, 2009. 2009 IEEE/EDS Paul Rappaport Award (IEEE Electron Device Society, 2010.12). The 9th Docomo Mobile Science Award, Fundamental Science Division (Mobile Communication Fund, October 15, 2010). Gottfried Wagener Prize 2008, March 6, 2009. IEEE Polytronic Award 2008, August 2008.
